Doing the Impossible: Providing Quality Content

by Carson Brackney

156_flying_blind_pLet’s get the obvious stuff out of the way…

In terms of online success, content is critical. That’s why people are willing to pay you to write.

Furthermore, good content is important. We can all come up with a nice long list of reasons why businesses should invest in high quality material. No matter how sick you may be of hearing it, that “good content is king” thing is true.

Finally, none of us have a convincing way of defining the amorphous concept of “quality content”. We try, but at least four things prevent us from constructing a clear, brightline definition: (more…)

Kill the Custom Sample Scam Zombie

Kill the Custom Sample Scam Zombie

By Writer Wrangler Writer

Never, ever give a client a custom “sample”. Period.

Scams are like zombies. No matter how much you beat them up, no matter how many limbs you sever, no matter how many times you empty a revolver into their chest cavity… They just keep on going! If you want to transform the undead back into the regular dead, you gotta take off their heads.

And that’s what I’m going to try to do today. I want to take a long-running scam that chews up writers like a zombie chews up brains and rip its head off. In that spirit, let me repeat the first line of this post:

Not my top pick of bidding sites that’s for sure.  Low prices, tons of emails, and lots a junk to wade through.  However with over 500,000 service providers, they must be doing something right!

While they are flooded with projects and there is never a lack of work to sort though, it can take all day and if you are very lucky you might find a project that pays half way decent wages. According to their statistics, there are about 300 projects posted everyday, so you are bound to find something that suits you!

If you sign up for their email notifications your inbox will certainly be flooded several times a day, which is sometimes annoying even to those desperately seeking work.  It’s even more annoying when you have to sort though 5 emails with 20 or more projects in each one and the pay is $1.00 -$2.00 per article.  We aren’t talking 100 words here people.
